Great neighborhood spot This little spot is right on Bowdoin St and have your typical comfort food. My husband and I came in and the place was busy and lots going on, take out line was out the door, every booth was occupied so much so they had to open the side area that was closed. There was only 1 person waiting on all the tables but you wouldn't know it. He was so pleasant and paid attention to everyone. You need a little bit of patience when you go there. We ordered fish and grits, eggs and grits and a side of corn beef hash, OJ and water and we waited. While we waited we met mother Sara, a regular at the diner, and we stroke up a conversation. Our meals came and frankly didn't WOW us but didn't taste bad. In looking around, everyone felt at home so I could tell they were regulars. I loved the atmosphere and will definitely go back.

What's a girl from the north shore doing around cape verdian territory (cape verdian restaurant next door). When I was told that this was the restaurant we were going to for a quick brunch I automatically thought of Family Dollar. I'm sure I'm not alone in that one. This family owned restaurant is super welcoming, from the owner to the waitress. I'm glad we got a chance to dine in and supported local family owned businesses. My tuna melt was deliciously affordable. I understand businesses are losing out on a lot of money because people are not vaccinated and can not dine in because of the mandate however, those that are please be prepared to show your vaccination card/or pull it up on your phone. You don't want to lose an opportunity to try this place. Parking lot in the rare of the building.
